Trying to Remember???

Was able to go and visit with Alice yesterday.  It has been about a month since i got to stay out with her.  After I had finished my stress test i was able to go out.  She was happy to see me, but don't think the me that she remembered.  I was just a nice lady that came out.

It is so very hard to have her sitting there smiling at me and then ask now what is your name.  I tell her Jessica and she says that's a pretty name and I so glad you came out to visit.  I never fail to try and take
her some kind off candy when I go out.  I fixed her some strawberries and chocolate pudding and she thought that was pretty good last night.  This morning i fixed strawberries and banana's.  We had toast and a nice breakfast together.

She has had a bad cold the last couple of weeks, but seemed more tired when I  saw her than the last time.  She can get angry very fast if the wrong thing is said that she does not like.  Most of the time she can walk into the other room for a while and she forgets what was wrong when she comes back out.

She is getting smaller and smaller each time I see her.  Is that what happens with someone with Alzheimer's? 

I hope when I go out next I am feeling better I had fallen and was sore so we couldn't go anywhere.  It was raining all weekend and we need a nice day so we can get out together.  She really likes to do that.  I would bring her down here for the day to visit my family, but it is such a long drive.

Can you tell me how she can count back from 20 to 1 and not miss a number.  Irv and Dave have her do this everyday.  She knows her name and her address, but forgets Irv is her husband and Dave is her son.  I just don't understand this disease.
