Surprise I got a call from Alice. I heard Irv in the back grown so I think it may have been at his suggestion. When I talked with her yesterday I told her if the weather was better I would be out after Bible Study.
She always gets to the point right away. No more Hi, how are you doing, what's going on . She said I know you wanted to come out , but the weather is not good for you to get out. You know if you didn't know she had Alzheimer's she would sound like herself worrying about others. I have to thank Irv and David her son for helping her call. David ask me if it bothered me her calling and I told him no. Please help or remind her to call. Brings back memories of long talks like before.
This picture is of me , Alice and my great grand son Easton. She looks so good it makes my heart hurt to know there will be a time she will not be like this. This is how I want to remember her smile.
This picture reminded me what she told me that day. It is one of those funny moments.
I was talking to my daughter and she asked to talk to Aunt Alice. Alice asked her what she was doing. Tracy told her she was playing paper dolls and before she could tell that she was playing with her daughter she replied. Thinking she was younger and not a mom she told how much fun that is. She wanted to know what she was doing later. Tracy told her she was having a friend over. The next thing she said was is it a boy or a girl. Tracy said a girl and Alice said " oh good your mom will be glad to hear that." She then gave the phone back to me and when we got off the phone is when it got really funny.
We were sitting where others could hear us so I was trying to have her talk softly, but not a chance. She said I would be glad Tracy was not having a boy over and was I glad. I smiled and said you bet. lol She then said You know Boy's can be trouble because they have P---s and he could make a baby and it can be fun, but No. No. No. I went and got her an ice cream cone and changed the subject.
We don't always know what she is going to come up with or ask so we just try and guide some of what she is talking about to lighter things. LoL Chocolate will always do that.
Well just a new day in our lives .
